About Me.
Hi, I’m Kristy Ricard, and I’m proud to have been born and raised in Chilliwack, British Columbia. Growing up, sports were a huge part of my life—whether it was hockey, soccer, dance, or baseball, I was always on the go, and I still enjoy playing today.
My passion for movement and wellness led me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, where I discovered my interest in the connection between the mind and body. This inspired me to continue my education, and I completed my Master’s in Counselling. I am now a BC Registered Counsellor, dedicated to helping others navigate life’s challenges and create meaningful change.
I’m always looking to expand my skills and knowledge in the mental health field. I’ve completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and have also focused my studies on Autism, which has allowed me to provide more specialized support to my clients.
My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where people feel heard, valued, and empowered to work toward their personal goals.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps individuals heal from trauma and distressing memories. It uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, while the client recalls traumatic experiences. This process helps the brain reprocess memories, reducing their emotional impact and enabling healthier emotional responses. EMDR is highly effective for conditions like PTSD and anxiety, allowing healing without extensive verbal recounting of trauma.
